Before you begin
- An active, authorized subscription for your location
- Your exact device model and current software version
- Private account credentials in the format your player supports
- A stable internet connection and enough free storage
Confirm compatibility before paying for an app or subscription. Menu names can change with updates; use the official source linked below for the current platform instructions. Compare players and supported account formats before installing.
Prepare your device and player
Download VLC from VideoLAN’s official website for your operating system. Avoid download buttons on advertising or mirror pages.
Add your authorized account
Choose the network-stream option and enter your authorized stream or playlist URL. An account-based portal may require a different compatible player.
Load and check your viewing setup
Play a supported stream and compare the result with your TV on the same network. Do not screen-share a URL that contains a username or password.
VLC does not supply television channels. You must have authorized access to the content you open.
If something does not work
Check whether you have a sign-in error, an empty channel list, or a playback issue. Those symptoms require different checks. Confirm your account is active, copy addresses without extra spaces, and close other streams that may use your permitted connections.
If video plays but listings are missing, check the guide source and time zone. If playback stalls, compare another channel and a wired connection where your device supports it. Avoid clearing all app data before saving the information you need to sign in again.
Send support your model, player version, error message, and the steps you have completed. Remove credentials from screenshots. See the buffering checklist and program-guide troubleshooting for more detail.
